amazingly, we've been STTN the last 2 nights in a row - 7 hour stretches, a feed, then another 4 hour stretch. its sooo wonderful to feel well rested. i think its partly b/c he turned 2 months today, partly because of the Baby Whisperer EASY routine & partly b/c of the 'swaddle me' blanket pictured above. i know it looks very straight-jacket-ish but its the only swaddle blanket he fits in (being 14 pounds already) & he can't get his arms out to hit himself in the face, thank you velcro!

don't forget
i didn't want to forget that sometimes i hear Liam farting on the baby monitor & it always cracks me up. i picture his face all red & smooshie laying up there is his crib ... eyes closed straining. then he farts loud & i know he smiles after. too funny.
speaking of liam. there he goes crying...

sickie

my little Liam has been a sickie :( we noticed on the weekend that he had what looked like bad baby acne over his tummy, his back & the folds of his neck. so we called my mom (the wise healing woman) & she said to give him a baking soda bath. which we did.. the next day the rash was gone from those areas but had spread to his arms & legs & face. we waited it out on sunday but my monday it was was looking like the pictures above.
SUPER SCARY!
so a quick call to our pediatrician got us seen within the hour. turns out its a virus, a very common virus. he said he's seen it a million times & its nothing to worry over & it should go away in a few days. he even brought his learning students in to take a look at it & asked them a bunch of questions about it. said it was a good learning opportunity for them.
so mr. liam seems pretty alert, no fever, just the grumpies - okay, he's VERY grumpy. but we can handle it. he's sleeping lots, drinking lots & we're giving him mega cuddles & really babying him. my poor little rashy guy!

6 weeks

Liam was six weeks old yesterday & he's changing so fast! He's going one 5-hour chunk between feedings at night & another 4 hour chunk, which is amazing & it means i'm getting at least 6 hours a night sleep - which allows me to function pretty much as a normal person again.
Here's my little chunky monkey, he has some skin irritation where his eyebrows are trying to grow, we've been using this product CALIDOU we recieved as a gift from Robert & Monia; its clearing it up really nice
In his "orange you cute!" jumper
watching TV with daddy!
Showing off his booties that were knitted by Auntie Kim (aren't they adorable?)
Look how strong he is!! He's already holding his head up most of the time.
His wonky ear still isn't getting any better. We're going to start taping it at night after we get the green light from the dr. on monday - its his checkup where he gets his shots "uh oh shots!!"
My sweet baby's pretty little monkey face :)

these are the
reasons i love my hubby:
* he watches Liam whenever i ask b/c he loves spending time with him
* he makes dinner almost every night of the week so that i can rest when he gets home from work
* he scolds me for not taking enough naps, for not sleeping when liam is sleeping (i think this is 60% genuine concern & 40% ploy to get in more uninterrupted Gears of War & Halo time)
* he gives me family sized hugs, where i'm walking somewhere holding Liam & he'll wrap his arms around both of us & we're a mommy/daddy sandwich with Liam icing center
* he takes the dog out all the time (before work & when he gets home from work), even though the dog is technically 'mine' (he feeds & waters him too)
* he is so patient with Liam, he genuinely wants to 'make it better' when Liam is upset & isn't afraid to try new techniques until he gets something that works
* he understands that i'm a new momma bear & gives me unconditional emotional support
