We're back... again!
after a whirlwind of travelling we're finally home for good & i have zero plans to travel again for a very very long time.
liam's routine is so messed up he's waking every hour through the night & has been since the middle of mexico; needless to say, i'm a walking/talking/non-functioning zombie mom. this month has been a blur of beaches, piles of snow, flights on planes, fights with Shaun (we weren't even speaking when we left mexico), fights with my mom, screaming into pillows with sheer frustration at Liam's sleep strike, making up with Shaun, making up with Mom, cuddling Liam in bed with me for hours trying to sleep, baths, dirty diapers, the start of teething (i'm not kidding!!) nursing in public & presents. its all a bit muddled & blurry to be honest. i have never been so happy to be home in my life & i was so excited to sleep in my own bed with my own husband that i couldn't wind down or sleep last night. go figure.
after weeks of Liam waking up every 2 hours of so to nurse i consulted my mom & decided to start solids while visiting them for the holidays. because i know i'm going to get some grief for this decision, here is my rational: the BW book says "Most pediatricians suggest waiting until your baby is six months old before starting to introduce solids. With the exception of very large babies (seventeen to twenty-two pounds at four months) or infants suffering from esophageal reflux... I agree." - Tracy Hogg
i think we can all agree that Liam fits into the "very large babies" category, being over 17 pounds at 3.5 months... so this is why we decided to start. i've had the green light from his dr. since last month so i think i've done well to last this long. i'm not sure why i thought that starting solids would help him sleep longer & feel fuller... but it didn't. wait a second, i'm sure he felt fuller, but he sure didn't sleep longer. in fact, i also read in the BW books that introducing solids causes SLEEP DISTURBANCES... why didn't i read that part first?!
unfortunately there's no going back. now that we've introduced, we need to just move forward with it. "onward & upward" as my previous boss Antoinette used to say. i'll write more updates soon... you know who has woken up early from his nap. again!

Dump!!
we got dumped on the last few days!! it is snow city here in Ottawa, just crazy snow everywhere. i am so grateful to be flying to my parents house for the holidays instead of driving with Liam - the amount of snow we have already is just freaking me out!!
in other news, we leave for Mexico in 5 days!!! where we'll be staying at the Cancun Palace in downtown Cancun. am literally bursting with excitement, can't wait to get out of the snow & into some fun in the sun! Shaun's parents are taking the whole family for our christmas presents this year. its so incredibly generous of them & we are so grateful! thank you so much mom & dad feagan!! :) :)
here's a photo of the resort where we'll be staying. isn't it amazing??!

September Mommies

mr. Liam is 3 months old yesterday!
and.. thankfully, has finally (finally!) found his fingers
and just last night started finding his thumb.. is it too early to throw out the pacifiers yet??
daddy & baby camera shy
liam drunk on milk & passed out cold after nursing
there is a group of ladies that i met over on the TWW boards while i was preggo. we were all expecting our babies in the month of September 2007 so we shared our pregnancy journey's, our L&Deliveries & now our lives as new mom's together. i literally don't know what i would do without them. we now have our own private chat site & not a day goes by that i'm not running to post or check out whats going on as soon as liam naps (& sometimes when he's not napping but hanging out happily in his bouncy chair). i've formed real friendships with some of these ladies & am even going to meet Jule in real life when i visit my family in Brantford for the holidays (which i'm so excited about i'm bursting!!)
for all the September Mommies out there - thank you!! knowing you has made my life so much richer & so much better b/c there is nothing off limits to talk about. the support you've given me & each other is amazing. its really special & i've never experienced anything quite like it. thank you soooo much for always being there!!
