I started this. It will be a security blanket for Liam based on one I found at Chapters.
The one from Chapters is here. When I first saw it, I thought "What a great idea! Its so tactile, soft and tiny. Its the perfect size and shape for a security blanket!" But at +$30 the price was so unreasonable, I couldn't justify spending that. Anyway, I thought to myself "Hey, self, you're handy. You could do this!"
So I am! At work, my friend Joanna is teaching me a new stitch every day at lunch. Then, once I get the basic shape of the blanket, I'll be taking different cut out shapes of tactile fabrics and sewing them on top of the blanket - think Pizza crust with toppings. I'll attach tags of ribbon around the borders and crinkly yarn will wind throughout.Once I've had some practice, I'll start crocheting blankets for Project Linus.
